Westlanding

Located on ruins believed to date back to the first Samsaran landings on the Southerly Isle, the city of Westlanding is today one of the largest cities in the Created Isles. It’s population of nearly ten-thousand blends a majority human populace with several Kitsune families, a contingent of Aasimars, and numerous other racial groups.

Westlanding is prosperous in large part due to its strategic location between easterly trade-cities and the cultured south and west isles. A large fleet of half-gnome, undine, and human crewed vessels make voyages of trade to many different settlements. These voyages trade in a large variety of goods, but the ships themselves are the most important assets. The sailors are represented politically by the Deep Green Sea guild, which has two guildmasters as seemingly permanent members of the powerful Westlanding City Council. By this influence, Piracy has been made a capital offense, with the greatest political question on the matter whether to drown or hang convicted pirates. Craftsmen, Shopkeepers, and the politically skilled Kitsune families (such as the infamous Urthadar Cartel) are also participants on the City Council. Crime (especially theft and vandalism) is a serious issue, but citizens and councilmen remain divided on how to deal with it, and the city guard are often slow to respond to calls.
